Cameron and the missionaries helped me put the garden in! It really happened in a few stages.. setting up the cinder blocks [with chicken wire underneath so the gophers aren't given a tasty meal] * then the soil mix went in [peat moss, worm gold plus, compost, steer manure, John and Bob's, Dr. Earth and a few more things :) ] * the soil had to mixed and set for at least a week before the plants could go in * FINALLY I got to plant my plants!! Alexander helped me dig in the dirt and plant the corn and tomatoes. we ended up adding strawberries to the garden, in the holes of the cinders. I hope they work out well during the summer heat. So here's out little garden soon we will be able to eat the fruits [and vegetables] of our labors!
Plants in our edible garden:
White Queen Corn, Roma Tomato, Rainbow Tomato, Big Zac Tomato, Green Zebra Tomato, Cherokee Chocolate Tomato, Sage, Thyme, Rosemary, Mint, English Blue Thyme, strawberries , Soy Beans, Chamomile, Chives, Bunching Onions and Beans. Our little plants :) the corn and the tomatoes were planted pretty deep so they wont fall over , only their little tips were exposed, lets see how well that works!
