Art by Me

I haven't been able to do as many art pieces as I would have liked this season [or any season for that matter] so I decided to play around with a few gifts for Christmas. I love making art, as it is also my major :) With all that has been going on in the last few years I have not done much. I did decide to do more and what better way than to give gifts?! My inspiration for each was as unique as each of my friends are and I used pictures that I had taken. Tim Holtz is also a huge inspiration in my art pieces. Here are the 4 I did for Christmas for friends:

This one is for Andy, he's a brit [aka The Mad Brit] and a rockin' bass guitarist in a Central Cali band. My inspiration was his brittish flag guitar. [which I keep telling him will journey home with me one of these visits..] This one is for Nathan, Andy's son, who was our tour guide the previous trip. We had a fun day touring the piers and flirting with wildlife..pelicans are stange animals and mini traffic cones are our friends.. The inspiration for his piece came form a few inside jokes we share and some picures I took that day...

This one is for Andrew..aka lil brit or mini me... He is a talented skater and I wanted him to have something that celebrated him. I took pictures of him skating one of the first times we visited and used one of those in his piece.

This one is for Tony, a childhood friend- who is a talented guitarist and also in a band or two in Central Cali. My inspiration for this piece was a picture of him playing the guitar when we were kids.

I was an art major in college. I just haven't done much with it for awhile and decided I'd get on the ball now, maybe sell a few pieces.
