A visit to the doctor's office

For Xander's 4 month check up we took the camera.. he's been so funny lately that I just knew he'd do something that was picture worthy.
And of course, he did!
He rolled all over that table.... and off of it!
Good thing Cameron was there to catch him!

He loves his mono y manos! They all go straight into his mouth! Mono kept him occupied for a while, but the wait was 45 minutes!!!! I love our doctor, but com'on!!!

At his 2 month visit:
Height: 23 1/4 inches 71%
Weight: 11lbs 8oz 55%
Head Circumfrence: 41cm 75%

At this visit:
Height: 25 1/2 inches 70%
Weight: 15lbs 0oz 53%
Head Circumfrence: 43.5cm 76%

After he was weighed, meassued and checked out by the nurse, we waited for the doctor some more. The nurse gave us some stuff on the vaccinations to read over..... which we looked over. Again. I wont get really into it, but babies should not be given this many vaccinations at such a young age, and some of them aren't nessasary at all.

Then the doctor came in! Doctor Christine Wood. She's on the Scientists Board for USANA and one of the best pediatricians in San Diego. She came highly recommened. She's worth the wait, and the drive.

She checked out Xander's hips, ears, eyes.. you know the drill. He laughed and talked to her the whole time. She was very impressed that he didn't have any stranger anxiety. (Probably since he gets passed around at church and family functions like crazy.. I rarely hold him when we are with other people!) So our baby boy got another clean bill of heath, and a shot :(

After all was said and done, she talked about what solid foods to start him on in a few months and what to avoid. She also recommened a few more books to read.. I love reading! One of the books was on super foods for babies and kids, and how to make your own baby food. Since the baby food on the market has too many preservatives in it and really is not all that great for your infant we've wanted an a;ternative. I'm glad there is more information out there than before and that makes my job a little easier.

Until next visit......
Ciao.

I love this site! It gives recipes as well as when to introduce certain foods.

I have a book you might like to borrow, it's called The Successful Child by Dr. Sears.
