steppin' out...

So I have been talking about getting a pedometer for a while now and finally just bought one. You are supposed to do about 10,000 steps in a day... roughly 5 miles for me. So around the house so far this morning I have done only 94 steps and it is 11:22am. I have been up since before 8am. hmm.. I'm thinking that if I do't get out and do a walk with Xander, then I'm not going to get to the goal of 10,000 steps in one day... I've decided that there is NO WAY to do 5 miles just walking around the house [even IF I'm running after Xander to keep him from climbing on the piano and such..]

I'm not really sure if it was MY goal to do 10,000 steps each day, I think that is just what is reccomended by the company that sells the pedometer. I'll see how today goes, not sure if I have time.. or really want to make the time to go for a walk today. I have too much to do around the house and seems like the laundry only multiplies when I do it. I think I might see how many steps I do on an "average" day at home. Yesterday Lolo and Ela joined Xander and me at Sea World and I didn't even get to the 10,000 steps. I was 400 something shy for the day. I was thinking of walking up and down the street at 10pm to finish up my steps.

I have decided that the first few days [the remainder of this week] will be a test period to see REALLY how many I average in a day, while doing all the things I normally do.. and then set up a routine for more from there. Sounds good to me! Wish me luck! If I can't get to the gym every day to work out, I need some way of working out and getting my body moving. After-all, I would like to be at my best before we have another kid :)
