Today Xander and I put together his "big boy bed" and took down the crib. He had so much fun "help you" "help you" and "fix it" that he was still "fix it" hours later. He even had to show Cameron how to "fix it". Putting together furniture takes a while when its just you.. then add in a [almost] two-year-old and you'd got a recipe for double the trouble [and time!]. After it was all said and done Xander threw a fit because his crib wasn't there, but then wanted to just jump on his bed. So that fit didn't last long.
Naptime was interesting.... he cried for a few minutes then [I thought] he went to sleep. Nope. He did, however, stay in bed for 45 mins laying there holding his oso. That is, until I peeked in to see if he was asleep and after I shut the door, he got up and played with his toys for about an hour and a half. What am I going to do with this kid? I think the transition will go well, might take a little longer than I'd like, but hey- he's 2... what more can you ask of a 2 year old?
On the potty training front, he's doing very well with using his potty each day. Xander's diaper has even stayed dry for a few days in a row.... Then we went on vacation and now we are starting to get back into the swing of our routine.

The transition is always fun. We also put a gate up at the door because now that they can get out of bed during nap time they can also open the door and get out!! (also at night!!!)The gate/fence helped a TON at least they were in their room and quickly learned it was time to rest not play. Then when nap time was over they would open the door and stand next to the gate yelling "mom, mom, mom" but I have to warn you after a little while they did learn to climb over the gate!!They never did it at night just during nap time. Good luck!!!
He's been pretty good about staying in bed so far.. lucky us! His door is very hard to open, so he pretty much stays in his room and plays for a few hours in the morning. Love it! we'll see how things go...
