Green Butterfly

*****Cameron's post*****

I awoke this morning to Alexander climbing up on the bed, as he usually does on the weekends.

"It's too early," I said. But, whatever ... "Come on up."

Alexander comes up onto the bed ... buck naked.

"Donde está tu ropa?" I asked him.

"Green butterfly," was his reply. My blank expression must have been interpreted correctly by my son because he repeated, "Scary green butterfly." As if no other explanation was required.

Then, the kicker ... "And pee in the kitchen."

Ok, so I have a naked child on my bed explaining his lack of clothes on a scary green butterfly and telling me that he peed on the kitchen floor. Am I hallucinating or is he? And I sure hope the green butterfly is the real part of the story.

Since this was an obviously terrifying situation for my 2 year old, I get up with him to resolve the issue.

First things first. "Dónde está la mariposa verde?"

"Right there!" he points to nowhere in particular.

"Dónde?"

"Right there!"

I am oblivious to where the source of the frightening spectre is coming from, so I take my hand and smack as hard as I can to kill it.

"Ok, all gone," was Alexander's calming reply.

Sometimes you just have to save the day and destroy those green butterflies.

.... Oh, and yeah .... there was pee on the kitchen floor. Too bad that wasn't imaginary, too.
